Buttermilk Biscuits
- 2½C. All-Purpose Flour
- 2Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1tsp Salt
- ½C. Butter
- 1C. Buttermilk (+2Tbsp divided)
- 2tsp Honey (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425F.
Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisk together.
Add cold butter and cut into small pieces with a fork or knife till pieces are a crumbly texture mixed in the flour mixture.
Gently stir buttermilk into the dry ingredients a little at a time while mixing until it is somewhat cohesive and slightly sticky.
Place the dough on a floured surface and pat or roll dough till it is about 1-inch thick. Fold dough onto itself in thirds then roll out again. Repeat one more time.
Cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter. Place them on a large baking sheet. Brush the tops of the cut out biscuits with the remaining buttermilk or with mixture of honey with a couple Tablespoons of melted butter. Bake for 15min or until golden.
